Enjoyed playing at Palmares some 30 years after my first visit. It is still a spectacular location with a course in great order. Played the Lagos nine first followed by the Praia. Lagos is an interesting and good test of golf but Praia is a disappointment. For those who played the old front 9 Praia is a poor imitation with 3 indifferent par 4's, a poor stopgap par 3 and long hole beside the dunes which is characterless compared to the original. Stick to Alvor and Lagos!
